It’s Cold in Denver, brrrr!

Denver had the biggest temperature swing in the US yesterday dropping almost 40 degrees. Here’s a quick video of how our Siamese cat Tyler and Sarah handled the situation.

From Ann: We’ve got two cute new additions.. a pair of kittens! A male and female litter-mates. SC named the girl Duma (for her cheetah-like markings) and the boy Kumbi (after our guide in Africa) They are really adorable,, but we’re quickly coming to the conclusion that two are much more than twice the work! We definitely have a new understanding for the expression “herding cats.” Still, they are so totally adorable and funny that even Cleo seems to love them.”

Mt Sanitas Hike

Sarah and I had a wonderful hike Sunday with Winnie the Doodle. We headed to Boulder for another trip up Mt Sanitas, one of my favorite hikes. Hiking nice and slow so Sarah’s heart rate stayed under 150bpm, we had perfect cloud cover and Winnie got to splash around in a mountain stream.

Nate sent me this awesome old video footage of Berthoud Pass (Nov 2005)….skiing with Grif, Daddy and Fletch. Checkout Nate’s huge cliff drop 38 seconds into the video. I’ve never seen anyone else hit that cliff at Berthoud.

Our good friends Rob and Karli lost their dog Jackson this week. He was a big, strong dog that grew up Boulder and lived the rest of his adventurous life in the hills of Conifer and Fairplay.

Green Mountain Hike

We enjoyed a nice hike from the base of Chautauqua Park to the summit of Green Mountain. This hike takes about 4 hours and is rated intermediate. The summit views are of Eldora Ski Resort, the Indian Peak Range, and Long’s Peak. The gang included Chappy, Rebec, their friend Chris, Julie, Sarah, Nish and myself. View Slideshow
