Hello family and friends!

Gemma and I had the surprise arrival of our daughter Gianna Christie Taylor
on Thursday, February 5th (5 weeks earlier than her due date). She was born
weighing 5 lbs 4 oz, and measured 18 inches in length. Gianna is healthy and
keeping us busy. Thank you to everyone for your support, generosity and
love. We feel so fortunate to have such a nurturing community of family and
friends to help us raise our daughter.

Kathryn Riley Taylor “Kate” was born Wed Jan 21st at 10:54am. She is 6lbs 15oz and 20 1/2in tall. Everything went really smooth, the staff at Rose Medical Center in Denver has been amazing and all of our friends and family have been dropping in to say hello. Thanks to Sandy and Susanna for traveling out here and coaching Winnie on how to behave around Kate.

Jon and Marie’s Wedding

It’s official, Jon and Marie are now “The Schnell’s”! We had an incredible weekend at Devil’s Thumb Ranch near Winter Park, CO. It was great seeing old friends, hitting the spa and watching all the kids go for sleigh rides around the 5,000 acres of white snowy ranch land. View Wedding Photos Slideshow

Mark put together the world premiere of “Don’t Slam the Door”, a song Jon wrote about his experiences at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival. Jon and Marie have visited Telluride many times and it’s a special place for them (and us too)…

Kittens!

From Ann: We’ve got two cute new additions.. a pair of kittens! A male and female litter-mates. SC named the girl Duma (for her cheetah-like markings) and the boy Kumbi (after our guide in Africa) They are really adorable,, but we’re quickly coming to the conclusion that two are much more than twice the work! We definitely have a new understanding for the expression “herding cats.” Still, they are so totally adorable and funny that even Cleo seems to love them.”

Boulder Peak Triathlon 2008

Congrats to Mark and Gemma for finishing the 2008 Boulder Peak Triathlon! This triathlon is an Olympic Distance race which consists of a 1.5km swim, 40km bike and 10km run. They both did a great job despite the 100 degree heat…and anyone that has every run around Boulder Reservoir knows the sun is intense and brutal with zero shade.

Matt Reed from Boulder, CO won the Men’s Pro Division and will competing in Beijing.

July 4th Weekend

Sarah and I spent July 4th in Silverthorne with Susanna, The Schnells and Micha…..and of course, Winnie and Maggie. We metup with a very pregnant Sara and Quincy at Keystone Lake for fireworks then back to the house for some serious Rock Band competition. On Saturday we mountain biked the Peaks Trail that starts on Peak 7 and ends in Frisco. Sarah and Susanna took the dogs on a huge hike leaving from Black Hawk and taking the Eagle’s Nest to Gore Range trail. We all met for some cold beers and lunch at the Backcountry Brewery, so nice!

A Crazy Week

Last week we celebrated Mark’s 30th Birthday, Mom’s Birthday, Sarah’s graduation, Michael’s birthday and family togetherness in general! A few days in Denver partying, cycling, and eating at fancy restaurants…then up the mountain to Eagle’s Nest for a weekend of relaxing in the high country.
